📖 Netsocs Glossary of Terms

A

  • Addons / Native Netsocs module: Service that manages add-on modules and integrations (native or third-party).
Example: Modules such as visits, access control, and tickets are registered through this service.

  • High Availability: Architectural principle that guarantees operational continuity and fault tolerance, using redundancy, load balancing, and constant monitoring.

  • API Gateway: Single entry point for external requests.
Manages routing, authentication, access control, and monitoring.

  • System Architecture: Netsocs' comprehensive and robust design, composed of layers such as:

  • Clients
  • Services
  • Routing
  • Drivers

B

  • Load Balancer: Distributes traffic among nodes to avoid overload.
  • BMS (Building Management System): Building management system for energy efficiency, comfort, and security.

C

  • C7 Governance Center: Evolution of the traditional command center (C5).
Coordinates operations in a centralized and efficient manner, including monitoring, control, and optimization.

  • Convergence: Netsocs' philosophy for integrating hardware, software, and operations into a single ecosystem.

D

  • Dashboard: Centralized and configurable graphical interface that allows module docking and integrated process management.
  • Driver: Software controller that connects Netsocs with third-party hardware or protocols.
  • DriverHub: Component that manages all drivers and their interaction with the system.

E

  • Efficient Ecosystem: Final result that Netsocs seeks: unifying departments and optimizing operations.
  • ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning): Enterprise management software integrated with Netsocs for operational analysis and control.
  • Etcd: Distributed storage that saves critical configuration and system state.

I

  • Identity Provider: Component that manages user authentication and authorization.
Compatible with SSO, OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, and SAML.
  • IoT (Internet of Things): Netsocs integration with IoT devices for advanced control and monitoring.

K

  • Kafka: Event streaming platform for real-time processing.
  • Kubernetes: Container orchestrator for application deployment and scaling.

N

  • Netsocs (acronym):
    Next-level | Ecosystem | Technology | Smart | Operations | Convergence | Solutions
  • Worker Node: Executes and manages assigned services.
  • Control Plane Node: Coordinates and supervises the operation of the distributed system.

O

  • ONVIF: Standard protocol for integrating IP cameras and physical security devices.
  • OSDP: Modern and secure protocol for access control.

S

  • SCADA: Industrial system for intelligent process management and production optimization.
  • SIP: Protocol for initiating voice or video sessions.
  • SSO (Single Sign-On): Single authentication for multiple services and applications.

U

  • User Federation: Netsocs connection with LDAP or Active Directory for centralized identity management.
