Recorded Video

The Recorded Video module in Netsocs Synergy is a forensic investigation tool that integrates video playback with the platform's event engine.
It goes beyond a simple NVR/DVR player, as it allows searching and locating specific clips based on:
- Date and time.
- Analytics events.
- Sensor activations.
- Other recorded metadata.

👉 This correlation between events and video turns incident investigation into a fast and precise process.
Instead of reviewing hours of footage, operators can jump directly to the exact moment of the event.

The Recorded Video interface combines simplicity with power.
Its main components are:

Component Description
Video Viewer Central area where the selected camera's video plays.
Camera Selector Panel to choose a camera or group of cameras.
Date and Time Selector Allows starting playback from a specific point.
Playback Controls Standard buttons (Play, Pause, Fast forward, etc.) and speed control (1x, 2x, 4x).
Timeline Visual bar representing 24 hours of recording.

The Interactive Timeline

More than a progress bar, it's a visual representation of recorded activity.
- Continuous recording: Solid bar (blue or green).
- Event markers: Colored segments indicating key occurrences.
- Red → sensor alarm.
- Yellow → analytics event (e.g., motion detection).

👉 Click on any point to jump to the desired moment instantly.

Perform Event-Based Video Searches

The Event Log and Recorded Video are interconnected.
Each recorded event has a direct link to its video fragment.

Workflow: from event to video

  1. Access the Event Log.
  2. Locate the event of interest (e.g., Alarm: Warehouse Door Sensor, code E130).
  3. Click on the Play Video icon or in the actions menu.
  4. The system opens the Recorded Video module.
  5. The interface loads the associated camera and the timeline automatically positions a few seconds before the event.

TIP
You don't need to manually search for the time in the NVR/DVR: the system takes you directly to the event.

When there's no previously recorded event, forensic search allows finding activity using analytics and sensors as criteria.

Search types

  1. By Video Analytics
  2. Line crossing: finds clips with objects crossing virtual zones.
  3. Object detection: filters by type (person, vehicle, etc.).
  4. Region intrusion: locates unauthorized entries in defined areas.

  5. By External Sensors

  6. Select a sensor (e.g., Main Door).
  7. The system displays clips from nearby cameras that match its activations.

Results

Results appear as short clips or thumbnails instead of continuous playback.
This makes it easy to review multiple events and select only the relevant ones.

Export Video Clips as Evidence

The module facilitates exporting clips for audits, reports, or evidentiary purposes.

Export procedure

  1. Use the timeline to define clip start and end.
  2. Click Export.
  3. Configure:
  4. Camera and time interval.
  5. Video format (e.g., MP4, AVI).
  6. Descriptive file name.
  7. Start export. The system will generate a downloadable file.

WARNING
To maintain chain of custody, document who exported the clip, when, and for what purpose.
Store files in secure locations to preserve their integrity.

✅ With this module, Netsocs Synergy transforms forensic investigation into a fast, precise, and reliable process, integrating video, events, and analytics into a single tool.
